READ FOR THE RECORD PROGRAM AT JOSHUA TREE BRANCH LIBRARY

The Read for the Record Program returns to the Joshua Tree Branch Library, and this year’s kids book is about dragons. Reporter Jef Harmatz tells us all about the event.

As part of the “Read for the Record” campaign, children across the globe are encouraged to read the same book together, and then discuss what they’ve read. This year, Jumpstart, which organizes the campaign, has chosen the book, “Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon,” by Kat Zhang, about a young girl who struggles to create a dragon for a school assignment. As part of the campaign, the Joshua Tree Branch Library will be hosting an in-person reading for children of all ages this Thursday (October 28) at 11 a.m. For more details about the event, call the library at 760-366-8615.
