Reach Out Morongo Basin is seeking homes for the “Parade of Homes” fundraiser

Reach Out Morongo Basin is preparing for its annual Parade of Homes fundraiser and is seeking homeowners from across the Morongo Basin to volunteer their properties.

The event funds programs for seniors and disabled residents. Reach Out provides transportation to medical appointments, caregiver support, home repairs, and other services meant to help people remain safely in their homes.

Sharon Davis, a Morongo Basin homeowner who participated in the Parade of Homes several years ago, said she valued the experience.

“I enjoyed it. Everybody I met was really nice. And I’m also an artist, so my house has a lot of art elements to it. It makes you feel good because you get a lot of compliments about the things you’ve done with your house. So you feel like your hard work was worth it.”

Ticket holders tour a selection of private homes throughout the afternoon. Each stop shows different aspects of desert living, including renovated homestead cabins, art environments, and contemporary architectural designs.

Executive Director Robin Schlosser says the event depends on community participation. “The generosity of owners who open their homes to us is what makes this event such a success. Growing interest in the recent past has homeowners eager to show their homes.”

Reach Out is also seeking sponsors at multiple levels. A platinum sponsor at $1,000 or more will receive top billing in publicity and may nominate a home for the tour. Other sponsorship levels include gold, silver, bronze, and copper.

Homeowners and potential sponsors can contact Reach Out Morongo Basin at 760-361-1410.
