The opening night gala fundraiser of “Once Upon A Mattress” at Theatre 29 was a success for hosts Reach Out Morongo Basin. With more, here’s reporter Rebecca Havely…
Reach Out Morongo Basin was pleased with the fundraiser gala at Theatre 29. The “Once Upon A Mattress” opening night event brought in nearly $1500, before expenses, for the charity’s Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors programs and services.
The audience was treated to barbeque with all the fixings, plus desserts and a fabulous show. The silent auction—with goods donated by local artists, businesses and community members—brought in $355. Reach Out Director Robin Schlosser thanked Theatre 29, Director Kathryn Ferguson, the talented cast and said, “If you thought you knew the story of ‘The Princess and The Pea,’ you may be in for a walloping surprise!”
“Once Upon A Mattress” runs weekends at Theatre 29 through December 15, Friday and Saturday nights at 7, and Sunday afternoons at 2:30. Tickets are $10 to $15 and are available at theatre29.org.
