Joshua Tree residents Eddie and Janet Tucker opened their home for tea, refreshments, live music, and tours of their one-acre garden last weekend. Managing editor Tami Roleff says by all accounts, the event was a big success for Reach Out Morongo Basin…
Reach Out Morongo Basin raised almost $400 at its Desert Tea Social Saturday. Joshua Tree residents Eddie and Janet Tucker—whose home was on Reach Out’s annual home tours in February—opened their home for tea, refreshments, live music, a live auction, and tours of their one-acre garden. Between the tea and the auction, the afternoon raised almost $400 for the neighbors-helping-neighbors organization, including $125 in ticket sales and $263 in auction sales and other donations. Board members also talked about renewing the Angel Club, in which supporters give monthly donations to Reach Out. The money raised will support the group’s efforts to help seniors and disabled residents from friendly visits, help with light chores, and to transportation to and from medical appointments.
