UPDATE 7/21/2020 1:30 p.m.

A spokesperson from Braswell Family Senior Care Center told Z107.7 News that the leak was not sewage but was a water leak and it had been repaired.

The seepage pit for a Yucca Valley assisted living senior center has been overflowing for at least several days. A resident who lives nearby says raw sewage from the Braswell Family Senior Care center is overflowing and running down Santa Fe Trail for several blocks. The resident told Z107.7 News that the senior care center has had its seepage tank pumped out almost every other day for several days, and that the smell is “hideous” and “disgusting.” Z107.7 News contacted Ed Muzik with the Hi-Desert Water District who had the leaking sewage checked out and said it had just been pumped Thursday morning. Muzik reported the leaking to the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board and urges other Yucca Valley residents who have complaints to contact the board.
