A rare astronomical event will occur tonight when the moon will be closer to Earth than it’s been in almost 70 years. Known as a super moon, the moon hasn’t been this close to the Earth since January 1948, and won’t be this close again until November 2034. The moon actually reached its full phase at 5:52 a.m. as it is setting this morning. Moon rise Monday night is 5:29 p.m.
