The visitor count is down during the summer months at Joshua Tree National Park, but educational programs go on. Ranger Cathy Bell tells what’s in store with ranger programs…
Would you like to learn more about the national park in your own backyard? Joshua Tree National Park invites you to join a park ranger at any of this summer’s guided hikes or interpretive talks. Most programs are free and do not require a reservation. Short patio talks are offered at 10:00 am every day of the week. Enjoy one of these informal, 15-30 minute programs at the Oasis Visitor Center in Twentynine Palms or the Joshua Tree Visitor Center in downtown Joshua Tree. Do you have a young child in the family? Story time with a Ranger takes place every Saturday afternoon at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center. Join a ranger at 2:00 pm for a read-aloud story about an aspect of desert life. You can also relax beneath the stars at an evening program or go for a ranger-guided hike. Stop by a visitor center or take a look at our website, www.nps.gov/jotr, for more information about summer programs. For Z107.7, this is Park Ranger Cathy Bell, inviting you to Find Your Park at a ranger program.
