A Twentynine Palms resident is asking for the public’s help in finding artwork that was stolen from his residence Tuesday. Deputies were called about 5:20 p.m. to the 69200 block of Rainier Road Tuesday when the resident said some anthill art sculptures, valued at more than $500, had been stolen from his home. Anthill art is made by pouring molten aluminum into the entrance of an ant hill, filling the tunnels and chambers with the liquid metal. When the metal cools, it is excavated from the dirt and cleaned. A photo of the artwork can be found with this story at z1077fm.com. If you have any information about the stolen anthill art, call Deputy Rodriguez at 760-366-4175.
