PUBLIC’S HELP SOUGHT IN IDENTIFYING DRIVER IN HIT-AND-RUN WITH BICYCLIST

The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver or the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash with a bicycle rider in Yucca Valley Sunday night. About 10:30 p.m., Anna Madril, 53, of Yucca Valley was riding a bicycle northbound on Church Street. As she approached Yuma Trail, a black Chrysler 300 sedan was approaching southbound on Church Street. The driver veered to the left and hit a trash can before hitting Madril on her bike. The driver did not stop or check on Madril before fleeing the scene. Anna Madril was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. Anyone with information about the car or the driver should contact Deputy Lomboy at 760-366-4175, or call the We-Tip hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
