Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Department asked for the public’s help in locating a man. who went missing a week ago. John Downey, 68, went into Walmart in Yucca Valley with a friend just before midnight on February 7. A few minutes later, Downey left the store and walked through the parking lot near the intersection of Avalon Avenue and Highway 62. He appeared disoriented. He also has several medical conditions that require medication. Downey is not familiar with the area and does not know anyone in Yucca Valley.
John Downey is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, gray hair, blue eyes with eyeglasses. He has a sunrise tattoo on his left arm and wears dentures. He was last seen wearing a black down jacket, and dark colored flannel shirt, blue jeans, and dark colored shoes.
