PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION HEARING ON VERIZON SALE OF LAND SERVICES

Last February, Verizon sold its landline phone service, Internet, and FIOS video service—but not its cell phone service—to Frontier Communications. The California Public Utilities will hold a workshop and public hearing about the proposed transfer of operations between Verizon and Frontier. The workshop will be held at 1:45, prior to the hearing, and will review the technical condition of the network, and what steps may be necessary to satisfy the public interest under the Public Utilities Code. The hearing will follow at 5 p.m. Both the workshop and hearing will be held Monday, July 20, at Agua Caliente Resort, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, in Rancho Mirage.
