If the thought of speaking in public terrifies you, a free workshop may help you get over your fears. Sponsored by the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce, the one-hour brown bag lunch event will be moderated by Copper Mountain College speech coach Joe DeSantis and will feature elected officials Karalee Hargrove, Rick Denison and Bob Stadum. They will share some practical “do’s and don’ts” for speaking at public meetings. Bring a brown bag lunch and notepad. The workshop will be held at Copper Mountain College’s outdoor amphitheater in the 300 quad on the lower campus on Tuesday, September 13, from noon to 1 p.m. For more information, call 760-365-6323.
