In adults, tooth loss affects one’s ability to chew, speak, socialize, and even obtain employment. Reporter Mike Lipsitz brings us this report about an effort to improve oral and dental health in our area…
Good oral and dental health can prevent many painful, expensive and debilitating conditions. With that in mind, the county—with assistance from the state—is developing a four-year strategic plan to improve oral health. Stakeholders, partners and residents are invited to a community convening and luncheon to learn about oral health needs, share expertise, and guide development for a first-ever Strategic Plan for Oral Health. The community convening happens this Tuesday, November 20 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Community Center behind the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree. To register, call 909-469-8380. The event is paid for in part by state tobacco taxes the program is hosted by the county health department’s Local Oral Health Program.
