It’s called Connect SoCal. When completed, it will help guide our region’s growth and shape the future of Southern California. Success of the plan hinges on public input. Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells you how to provide yours…
Connect SoCal is a 25-year Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy described as an effort to form and present a long-range vision that balances our region’s future mobility and housing needs with economic, environmental, and public health goals. Public input is needed for the plan and toward that end, a workshop, one of many across Southern California, takes place this Wednesday, May 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Street in Joshua Tree. You’re invited to learn about how the region is anticipated to grow, understand the choices about where that growth occurs and provide input on how to keep the region moving. Southern California is one of the fastest-growing population and economic centers in the U.S. and is expected to add four million people over the next 25 years. The free workshop is presented by the Southern California Association of Governments.
