A public hearing for an environmental assessment and conditional use permit for a new Burrtec transfer station and collection vehicle maintenance yard is the main item on the agenda for tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission. The new Burrtec site will be on the southeast corner of Sunnyslope Drive and Indio Avenue. The project includes a truck terminal, 15,000-square-foot transfer station, 16,000-square-foot vehicle maintenance facility, 3,025-square foot administration building, a 3,300-square-foot employee building, scales, bin storage, parking, and fueling facilities. Following the public hearing, the commission will select a new chair and vice chair. The meeting starts at 6:00 in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
