PUBLIC COMMENTS SOUGHT IN NEW LAKE HAVASU BOATING RESTRICTIONS

Of interest to local residents who spend time at the river… The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to make changes to boating activities near Lake Havasu and the National Wildlife Refuge in the Topock Marsh. Proposed restrictions include prohibiting motors larger than 30 horsepower and requiring no-wake speeds in the marsh; and adding a two-mile no-wake extension to the current 17.5-mile restricted boating area. No new restrictions will be placed on the California side of the river. To make comments on these proposed changes, see a link in this story at z1077fm.com. The deadline for comments is May 12.
