City Manager Frank Luckino

The proposed federal budget presented for fiscal year 2020-21 by the Trump administration Friday includes a $76 million appropriation for a wastewater treatment facility for the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center. City Manager Frank Luckino said the city and the Marine Base will be collaborating on a joint use of the facility for both the base and the City.

Congressman Paul Cook

Luckino said Congressman Paul Cook was instrumental in securing this funding “for a facility that can support the base’s mission but, also support a portion of the City’s needs.”

Twentynine Palms Mayor Joel Klink

Twentynine Palms Mayor Joel Klink said, “The City thanks the support of Congressman Cook; this plant will not only supply a vital need for the base’s mission but also opens the possibility for our community to realize this essential service.”
