When property values declined during the economic meltdown many residents saw their property taxes go down. Now that things are improving, you may see your taxes go back up. Managing Editor Tami Roleff says a meeting with the county tax assessor’s office will be held in Joshua Tree tonight…
We all know what goes up must come down, but is it equally true that what goes down must come up again? Due to increases in the real estate market, there is the possibility that the taxable values of more than 100,000 county parcels will increase. An assistant assessor with San Bernardino County will give an informational meeting on county property assessments, followed by a question and answer session, on Wednesday, May 29. The meeting will be held at the Joshua Tree Community Center, 6171 Sunburst Avenue, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. For more information, call 760-366-3723.
