Be prepared for a step-up in training activity aboard the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. Marines from various units will be coming together next week to train prior to deploying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. The three-day exercise, known as CERTEX, will bring together Marines and sailors from 2nd Battalion, 7thMarines; Combat Logistics Battalion-5; and Marine Aircraft Group-13 starting Sunday, February 21. The exercise will simulate environments and scenarios using role players to create realistic situations Marines could encounter while deployed to Operation Inherent Resolve, the military campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Iraq and Syria.
