POWER POLE SHORT CAUSES BROWN-OUT IN YUCCA VALLEY

A short in a fuse at a power pole in Yucca Valley caused a brown-out for thousands of residents Thursday night. Shortly before 8 p.m., a fuse leading to a transformer on a power pole at Onaga Trail and Fox Avenue blew up, causing an arc fire on the pole. Residents experienced dimmed lights, and heavy power users such as televisions, computers, and appliances shut down. Power was restored to most residents a few hours later.
