POWER OUTAGE MONDAY AFFECTS TWENTYNINE PALMS, JOSHUA TREE

A significant chunk of the Morongo Basin was without power for several hours Monday, when temps in some areas dipped down into the 30s. A live wire went down at a substation on Two Mile Road in Twentynine Palms just after 8 a.m. More than 6700 customers in Twentynine Palms and Joshua Tree were affected by the power outage. It’s not known why the wire came down. About 16 customers are without power in the Yucca Mesa neighborhood of Yucca Valley this morning; power is expected to be restored about 10 a.m.
