POTENTIAL TOLL ROAD ON 15 FREEWAY

A toll road may be coming to the 15 freeway. The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority is considering a $425 million project that would add express toll lanes on a 12-mile stretch from Duncan Canyon Road to Cantu Galleano Ranch Road. Regionally, the freeway is known as the route to Las Vegas, but it also serves those heading to mountain or desert communities. Motorists would pay tolls to use the lane, though the tolls for vehicles with three or more occupants would be lower. The authority is now accepting public comments on the draft environmental documents for the project. The comment period continues through March 16.

Comments can be submitted in writing no later than Friday, March 16, 2018, to: James Shankel, senior environmental planner, California Department of Transportation, 464 West 4th Street, 6th Floor, MS-827, San Bernardino, California 92410-1715.
