The Pony Express riders of the Old West delivered mail on horseback. Continuing this historical tradition, the Pony Express will make a special delivery from Yucca Valley to the Pioneertown Post office on May 25. The event will begin at noon with the Friends of Pioneertown’s second brownie bake-off and souvenir photo sale; the riders will arrive at the post office at around 2 p.m. A unique pictorial postmark will be available for one month starting May 25. Anyone who wishes to have their mail ride with the Pony Express must bring a prepaid postcard or letter to the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce on or before May 23.
