The planned power outages affecting Twentynine Palms July 10 and 23 have been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later time. A statement by Edison said, “Due to the current demand on the electrical system, SCE has decided not to move forward with the planned outages that were previously scheduled for July 10 and July 23. Moving forward with installation of the improvements at this time could compromise system reliability.” The outage had been planned as part of the Leatherneck Substation Project’s construction activities to serve the future electrical demands of the Marine base and improve service reliability to the Twentynine Palms area.
