A small two-seater airplane landed on its belly at the Twentynine Palms airport Sunday morning. About 9:45 a.m., the pilot, identified only as a Twentynine Palms resident, was landing at the airport when the landing gear—which the pilot said was locked in place—snapped back, causing the plane to land on its belly. The pilot told responding paramedics that he was fine; the plane suffered minor damage.
