Among the items on the agenda for tonight’s meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District board of directors, the directors will be asked to approve the water district’s five-year capital improvement plan, and a change order for the sewer project, due to replacing two 12-inch pipes with one 16-inch pipe. And the board will be asked to approve a water exchange agreement with the County Service Area 70, Zone W-4, for Pioneertown. The water district will allow the county access to its Warren Valley sub-basin in exchange for an equal amount of water from the County’s Ames/Reche basin. The agreement will allow Pioneertown residents—who are experiencing a water emergency—to have access to a clean, reliable water supply. Tonight’s meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in district offices at Inca Trail and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley.
