Detectives began the investigation from a tip by the girl’s school resource officer. Linn was a volunteer at the girl’s school, and participated in several dance groups that included young girls; detectives are concerned there may be other victims. Linn is also a principal in the Pioneertown Wild West Theater.

According to Sheriff’s records, he is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $250,000 bail. Booking information indicates that John Linn faces charges of rape, lewd acts with a child under 14, and false imprisonment. Linn is scheduled to appear at the Morongo Superior Court on Thursday.
