PIONEERTOWN MAN TASED AFTER ATTACKING DEPUTY WITH SKATEBOARD

A Pioneertown man was tased and arrested Monday after he attempted to hit a deputy with a skateboard. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called at 2:45 p.m. Monday to the Crisis Walk-In Clinic in the 7200 block of Dumosa Avenue in Yucca Valley because a man, identified as Stosh Stevens, 25, refused to leave the clinic. Employees believed Stevens to be under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol, and were afraid the situation would escalate. When deputies arrived, Stevens was holding a skateboard and refused to put it down. A Sheriff’s press release states Stevens then tried to hit a deputy with the skateboard, at which point the deputy used his Taser to stun Stevens and take him into custody. Stosh Stevens was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
