While the Twentynine Palms Pioneer Days festival doesn’t officially kick off until next weekend, some events are starting this weekend. Tomorrow, (Saturday, October 6) is children’s day at Luckie Park from 10 to 2. The opening reception for the Art in Public Places art exhibition is at the 29 Palms Visitors’ Center Saturday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The outhouse races will also be held Saturday at the 29 Palms Art Gallery on National Park Drive at 4:30, followed by announcement of the outhouse race winners at 6 p.m. and food and music from 7 to 9 p.m.
