These are the Pioneer Days in Twentynine Palms. The 87th annual Pioneer Days officially kicks off tonight with the Little Pioneer Contest this afternoon (october 18) at 5 p.m. at Patriot Hall, and events continue through Sunday (October 22).
Tomorrow sees the opening of the annual carnival. Twentynine Palms Community Events Coordinator Scott Clinkscales was on the Z107.7 Up Close Show last week, where he told host Gary Daigneault about what you can expect at this year’s carnival.
“We’ve been working with the same company, Paul Mauer Shows. It’s the place that everything really centers around is the carnival. They haven’t told me how many rides we’re getting, but last year we had 17, which is the whole show, they say. We have wristbands for sale, they’re available at the Park and Rec office, the Bowladium, and the Twentynine Palms Visitor Center. You can get them right now at presale for $30, otherwise they are $40 on site. Thursday (October 19) is $2 ride night.”
The Pioneer Days carnival runs Thursday through Sunday, and Pioneer Days events run all weekend long. For a full list of events, see this story at Z1077fm.com
