The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of hit and run involving a wheelchair and a pick-up truck. According to a Sheriff’s report, a disabled Yucca Valley man was riding his motorized wheelchair eastbound on Sunnyslope Drive near Hilton Road when he was struck from behind by a white truck about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The impact knocked the man out of the wheelchair and into the street, where he was found by a passer-by, who took him home. The truck did not stop and continued eastbound on Sunnyslope. The man’s family took him to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he was treated and released.
