PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ASSAULT RESULTS IN AN ARREST IN JOSHUA TREE

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Sunday morning, accused of assaulting a woman physically and sexually. According to a Sheriff’s report, a witness called about 8 a.m. to report that a woman was covered in bruises and belt marks, and also had a swollen eye. The victim said her boyfriend, identified as Paul Quin, 30, repeatedly beat her up between 2 and 7 a.m. Sunday morning, by hitting her with a belt, punching and kicking her in the face, choking her, and cutting her face with a kitchen knife. In addition, she said Quin had sexually assaulted her and broke her left hand. The victim said when Quin fell asleep, she escaped to a friend’s house and called 911. After an investigation, Paul Quin was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, and sexual assault. Deputies also determined Quin is wanted on a warrant for armed robbery in Mississippi. Paul Quin was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $150,000.
