When the Town of Yucca Valley builds its sewer, property owners will be responsible for connecting their homes to the main sewer line in the street. Not only will residents have to pay for the lateral connection line, but they will have to obtain permits from the Town for it. Here is Managing Editor Tami Roleff with the details…
Property owners in Yucca Valley will be responsible for obtaining a permit from the town before installing their private property connection to the sewer. The town will have a list of requirements, such as the licensing needed to perform the work, details on how septic tanks must be abandoned, and how the actual connection line must be sized and installed. The Hi-Desert Water District is developing a step-by-step plan for property owners to follow when it comes time to install their lateral connections. The Town’s requirements and the water district’s plan will soon be available at protectgroundwater.org. Residents are urged to attend informational meetings held every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the water district’s office at Inca Trail and the Highway in Yucca Valley.
