A grass-roots community group calling itself The People's Committee for a Better Landers holds its first meeting at 6 p.m. tonight at Landers Elementary on Reche Road. Self-described as “local residents working to enhance enjoyment of [Landers], and to ensure future generations will be able to do the same.” Those attending tonight’s meeting are asked to think about the most important thing to know about Landers, what Landers characteristic should never change, what should change, and what each of us can do to make it happen. And on Saturday, the Landers Association meets at 3 p.m. in Belfield Hall. This is a makeup meeting as last week’s meeting was canceled due to the storm.
