A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car as he was crossing Highway 62 in Yucca Valley Wednesday night. About 8:25 p.m., a blue Prius was traveling westbound on Highway 62 when the driver struck the man in the number one lane between Mohawk and Apache Trails. The crosswalk was just yards east of where the pedestrian was hit. The driver immediately pulled over. The victim, estimated to be in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity has not been released yet pending notification of next of kin.
