Updated to correct model of truck that hit the pedestrian.
A pedestrian was killed on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley Friday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was struck by a Nissan pick-up truck traveling eastbound on the highway at 10:19 at East Drive. Morongo Valley firefighters and Morongo Basin Ambulance personnel found the man on the right shoulder of the road and performed CPR and other life-saving measures, but he died at the scene. The CHP is investigating.
