A 54-year-old woman was killed in Morongo Valley last night when she was struck by a car on the highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Geraldine Willis, 46, of Twentynine Palms, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger eastbound on Highway 62 about 8:30 p.m. when the still-unidentified woman attempted to cross the highway southbound, just east of Park Avenue, and walked directly into the path of Willis’s car. Paramedics said the pedestrian was killed instantly. Willis was uninjured. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
