The County Coroner’s office has identified the Yucca Valley woman who was killed Sunday night when she was struck by a vehicle on Highway 62 in Yucca Valley. Judith James, 56, was walking southbound across the highway just west of Church Street about 8:30. Jose Salazar, 42, of Moreno Valley, was driving westbound in the highway’s number 1 lane and was unable to avoid hitting her. Judith James died at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department said Salazar was not speeding and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No criminal charges are expected.
