PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS CRASH SUNDAY IDENTIFIED

A pedestrian was killed in a traffic collision in Twentynine Palms Sunday night. About 7:15 p.m., David Auth, 65, of Twentynine Palms, was walking southbound across Highway 62 about 450 feet west of the crosswalk Encelia Avenue. Auth crossed the two westbound lanes, the center, and the number one eastbound lane of the highway. A 2014 BMW 528i  being driven by a 38-year-old resident of Los Angeles, struck Auth. David Auth suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Eastbound lanes of the highway were closed to traffic for several hours during the Sheriff’s investigation.
