Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a hit and run in Yucca Valley that injured a female pedestrian late Monday night. About 11:30 p.m., deputies were called to the 7400 block of Barberry Avenue where they found a woman lying in the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. Debris was discovered in the street indicating that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Barberry Avenue when the woman was hit. The unknown vehicle left the scene. The woman—who was awake and told firefighters she was 43 years old, but didn’t know the circumstances of how she was injured—was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
