PEDESTRIAN HIT BY CAR IN TWENTYNINE PALMS IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Wednesday night in Twentynine Palms, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station responded to the intersection of Adobe Road and Verbena Drive for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision at about 8:49 p.m. Deputies discovered Chic Evans, a 68-year-old male resident of Twentynine Palms, with multiple injuries. Evans was crossing Adobe Road near McDonalds when he was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Camaro. The driver of the Camaro stopped and called 9-1-1. Evans was transported to Desert Hospital by air where he remains in critical condition. The accident is under investigation by the Morongo Basin Major Accident Investigation Team.
