PEDESTRIAN HIT BY A CAR, THROWN 40 FEET, IN TWENTYNINE PALMS FRIDAY

A man was injured in a collision with a vehicle Friday evening in Twentynine Palms. According to a Sheriff’s report, the unidentified man was walking in the northbound number 2 lane of Adobe Road about 7:20 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a vehicle being driven in the same lane at about 30 miles per hour. The force of the impact threw the victim 40 to 50 feet. The driver immediately stopped and attempted to help the victim and waited at the scene for rescue personnel to arrive. The man was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was released at the scene.
