PAY RAISE FOR THE BOARD ON TONIGHT’S HI-DESERT WATER AGENDA

A pay raise for the board of directors is on tonight’s agenda for the Hi-Desert Water District. Managing editor Tami Roleff fills us in on the details…

Among the items on the agenda for tonight’s meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District, directors will vote on raising their compensation from $125 per meeting to $150. Other items on the agenda include a revision of the eminent domain for a vacant property located just north of Highway 62 between Church Street and Cholla Avenue. The size of the required easement increased to .06 acres from .04 acres, although the district’s offer for the easement remains the same at $100 (assessed values are $27.53 and $19, respectively). And finally, the directors will be asked to approve a disbursement agreement with the Town of Yucca Valley for the proceeds of the Measure Z sales tax. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in district offices at Inca Trail and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley.

Immediately following tonight’s meeting, the board will hold a workshop on the wastewater reclamation facility. The directors will review and provide feedback to staff about Stage II services for the progressive design/build delivery of the sewer plant.
