Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown Thursday night. The local honky-tonk and performance venue posted on Facebook Thursday morning that lines would form at 3 p.m. Thursday for people to buy the $50 tickets, which wouldn’t even go on sale until 6:30 p.m. for McCartney’s 8:30 p.m. performance. At least 1,000 people showed up prior to 3 to get in line for the 300 available tickets; capacity was reached in minutes. McCartney is in the area for his second concert at Desert Trip in Indio Saturday night.
