Entitled the “Twentynine Palms Outdoor Recreational Enhancement Act”, Representative Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) recently introduced legislation that would transfer approximately 80 acres of Bureau of Land Management land to the City of Twentynine Palms for the purpose of vehicle recreation.
The acreage is adjacent to the 29 Palms Motorsports Arena, the site of numerous racing events that typically drew thousands prior to the COVID-19 shutdown. The legislation, H.R. 8848, lays the groundwork for the possible expansion of the racetrack and to ultimately provide a boost to the local economy.
