A 12-year resident of Morongo Valley, Matthew Campos says he’s running for the CSD because he “wants to build a stronger, more secure future for Morongo Valley.” And concerning the future of Morongo Valley, Campos says, “Looking ahead, we definitely have a choice to make, we’re right on the cusp of a major decision in that do we keep the fire department or do we turn it over to another agency; do we disband it? And what will the future of Morongo Valley be under all of those scenarios? … I want to make sure that we’re making the choice that’s going to be best for Morongo Valley and make sure that we stay safe and secure and have a good future to build on.” Campos sites as his qualifications his attendance at CSD meetings, his experience on various area governing boards, and his passion for and willingness to do the job.
