Parolee arrested with two shotguns after reported 29 Palms domestic disturbance

Deputies responding to a domestic disturbance led to the arrest of a parolee at large suspected of possessing a sawed-off shotgun.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday (May 16), County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a property in the 5500 block of Mariposa Ave in Twentynine Palms. A witness had made the call to 911 after hearing a woman scream from inside a recreational trailer parked on the property.

Deputies say that knocks on the trailer door yielded no response. Witnesses told deputies that no one had left the trailer since the call was made, and they determined that another person identified as Keith Allen Hunt – a 39 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms – was also in the trailer along with the unidentified woman.

Deputies report that they spoke to the woman on the phone and convinced her and Hunt to exit the trailer. The female was not injured and Hunt was found to be on active parole with a no bail warrant for his arrest. A search warrant was executed at the trailer and deputies located two shotguns, one being a sawed-off 12-gauge.

Kieth Allen Hunt was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
