The 14th annual Parade of Homes Tour is this Sunday. And today we wrap up our previews of each home on the tour with a visit to another do-not-miss property on the February 18 tour. Reporter Mike Lipsitz takes a look at the last home on the charity tour…
Each year, the Parade of Homes generates funds that provide services to local seniors and disabled residents. And for tour-goers, it offers a glimpse into some of Morongo Basin’s most interesting, unusual, and outstanding private homes. Today we visit one of four tour properties in Twentynine Palms. Rancho de Las Palmas is the home of Patrick Gange and Walter Holt. And true to its namesake, more than 300 palm trees adorn the 14-acre property. The Rancho’s main residence was an original adobe that has been expanded over the years and offers sweeping views of Morongo Basin. Don’t miss the iconic David C. Green mural depicting a moonlit Joshua Tree National Park. A guesthouse with swimming pool is nearby as is the stable with tack room, workshop, garage and other outbuildings – all solar powered. Tickets are $25 and include tour of all six homes plus live entertainment and lunch at the Park Rock Cafe in Joshua Tree.
Parade of Homes tickets are now on sale at Reach Out Morongo Basin, the Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms chambers of commerce, The Desert Trail, Z107.7 studios in Joshua Tree and at other locations throughout our Morongo Basin.
