The 15th annual Parade of Homes tour is Sunday, February 17 from 11 to Today we offer a sneak peek preview of one of this year’s unique, do-not-miss properties. Here is reporter Mike Lipsitz with a look at Wind Walkers…
Each year, the Parade of Homes generates funds that provide services to local seniors and disabled residents. And for tour-goers, it offers a glimpse into some of Morongo Basin’s most interesting, unusual, and outstanding private homes. Today we visit Abe Daniels’ Joshua Tree home, Wind Walkers. The home was designed by Daniels as a tribute to his father, who was himself a builder of iconic adobe abodes. Construction material, layout and ambiance are all designed to coexist with the surrounding desert and mountains. Outside, tour-goers are invited to follow the 30 animal guides along a meditation trail to the large, ceremonial medicine wheel. Try it, you’ll feel better.
