An additional 15 dogs have been flown from Twentynine Palms to a shelter in the Midwest for a better chance at being adopted.

The City of Twentynine Palms runs the Palms-N-Paws Animal Shelter. Through the Wings of Rescue program and a collaboration with the San Diego Humane Society, 15 large-breed dogs were flown on Sunday to the Bitter Root Humane Association in Hamilton, Montana, an area with more available adopters than our area.

Volunteers transported the 15 dogs to Riverside, where they were put on a plane and flown to Montana just in time for the holidays.

Palms-N-Paws Animal Control Manager Rick Boyd said, “These dogs have been waiting so patiently, and this partnership is giving them the second chance they deserve. With our shelter closing for adoptions during the winter holidays, knowing they’ll be safe, warm, and finding new families soon means everything to us.”

Palms N Paws Animal Shelter remains open for local adoptions Tuesdays–Fridays from 12–5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Adoption fees are still just $29 through December 20th.
